Each month, the children learn lyrics to songs
(music), color or create special artwork which
relates to one of the songs (art), learn creative
movements to the songs (dance), and then with the
aid of costumes or visual aids perform the song
through drama play (drama).
We offer to provide monthly CDs to the classes to assist
the children in learning the lyrics.
HeARTSongs relates to and reinforces the academic
curriculum of the children's classes.

First,
the children learn the lyrics of the song.

The Cat Came Back
Now old Mr. Johnson, had troubles of his own.
He had a little cat, who wouldn’t leave his home
He tried and he tried to give the cat away
He gave it to a man going far away.
Chorus:
But the cat came back, the very next day
Y’know the cat came back,
We thought he was a goner,
But the cat came back, he just wouldn’t stay
away.
He gave him to a man with a great big box
And he covered it in chains with a thousand locks
With the cat inside he threw it into the sea
Then he rushed back home and swallowed the key
Chorus:
Then he put him in a rocket ship bound for Mars
For seven days and nights it zoomed through the
stars
Then he crashed with an asteroid in the middle of
space
Pieces floated everywhere but there was no trace
Chorus:
Once a crazy scientist took that little cat
Put him in a time machine with one small rat
He zoomed him back 10 million years to the
dinosaurs and apes
The cat took one look around and said
“There’s no possible escape!”
Chorus:

Then they are given artwork
to complete as a booklet or as a visual aid to the
song.

Next, the children learn the
motions and movement.

Combining all the disciplines
of the Program, the children use their skills to
perform what they have learned.
